Ways to Donate

All financial contributions are tax-deductible, as provided by law. If you choose to make a financial donation, you will receive a confirmation at the end of your transaction – with an acknowledgment of your gift to follow in the mail. This acknowledgment will serve as your receipt.

A home delivered meal to a senior with a fixed income, toys for children during Christmastime, medical services for the uninsured, shelter when there is nowhere else to turn – these are just some of the ways that gifts are put to work through The Salvation Army. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, The Salvation Army can continue to reach out to individuals and families in need and offer a hand-up, not a hand-out.

Our supporters have become part of a network of thousands of Southern California residents who donate their time, money and talents to the work of The Salvation Army. In 2009, we were able to assist nearly half a million people with social service projects in Southern California due to these charitable contributions.

The Salvation Army encourages you to donate wisely, recognizing that not all organizations collecting donations utilize these funds efficiently. We believe in providing a high Return On Investment for your charitable dollar. At The Salvation Army, 83 cents of every dollar is used to support programs and services to help those most in need. In fact, The Salvation Army is consistently ranked among top charities that make your donations go further.
